What Do You Really Want?

A Note From Your Sister Seekers

Hey, seekers!

My husband was gone last weekend so I had the house to myself. I soaked up my alone time and watched A LOT of shows. I linked all the ones I enjoyed below :)

I don't have much to share with you about my life right now. It's been pretty steady and boring. But, I'm not complaining. I've come to appreciate "boring" because I know it doesn't usually last long. So for now I'm enjoying this season, appreciating the small things, and feeling really grateful for my small, boring life with the people I love.

Sending you lots of love and hope you enjoy the recs this week! Thank you for being here.

Until next time,

Kristin

What is Life?

Something to ponder

"Ask yourself this question three times and try to refine and improve your answer each time: What do I really want?" --James Clear from his 3-2-1 Newsletter

I've mentioned this weekly newsletter before and I tend to screenshot any quotes or questions that particularly resonate. But this is actually a question I've been trying to answer for myself for awhile. And I realize that I need to continue to refine it because when we know what we want...we can begin to seek it out and/or draw it in.

Weekly Recs

All the stuff we're loving lately

Watch

Lonely Planet (Netflix) - A love story between Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth?! Yes, please! Romances between an "older" woman and a younger guy are everywhere lately and I actually enjoyed this one. Liam is impossibly gorgeous (those eyes! that body!) so he is just fun to look at and I also love Laura Dern. So, this one was just pure enjoyment.

Disclaimer (Apple+) - The first two episodes are out and I'm so intrigued! It's a seven episode thriller mini-series based on the novel of the same name. Kate Blanchett plays a successful documentary journalist who is sent a novel where she is a key character in a story that she hoped was buried in the past. It's told in a non-linear fashion and leaves you wanting more after each episode.

Ali Wong: Single Lady (Netflix) - Ali Wong's latest stand-up is here and it is brutally honest and so entertaining. She is newly divorced and shares all about her dating life and leaves no details to the imagination. I would definitely not feel comfortable watching this with many people which probably tells you more about my prudishness, but just wanted to give that disclaimer.

Eat

Super Nachos - I had a large bag of tortilla chips leftover from our birthday party so I decided to make a pan of nachos. This recipe was so easy and sooo good! Give it a try when you want something super simple and quick to make for a gathering with friends or maybe just an afternoon on the couch. It will not disappoint!

Listen

Andrew Garfield's Grief (All There Is with Anderson Cooper) - I listened to this episode while I was on my morning walk and it definitely made me cry more than once. Andrew is so wise and I love how he describes how grief changed the landscape of his life.

Andrew Garfield Wants to Crack Open Your Heart (Modern Love) - Andrew Garfield is everywhere lately promoting his latest film, "We Live in Time" and I'm loving all these conversations. In this episode, Garfield reads the Modern Love essay, "Learning to Measure Time in Love and Loss," and he gets choked up while reading which leads to a beautiful conversation with the host.

Read

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah - I just finished this book and it lived up to all the hype and high praise it's given. It's set during WWII in France and follows the lives of two sisters as they struggle to survive and risk their lives to save others. Kristin Hannah's writing is extremely moving and she has a way of drawing you into a story that makes you not want to put the book down. I highly recommend this one :)

Welcome to your weekly inspiration, recommendations, and encouraging insights from your fellow sister seekers. A Note From Your Sister Seekers Good morning and sending you some wonderful Big Libra energy! We celebrated our 38th birthday this past weekend with our little sister, husbands, and a few girlfriends. We made diamond art bookmarks, ate chili and snacks, got our tarot cards read, listened to our birthday playlist, and laughed lots. It felt silly and fun and reminded me that even...

Welcome to your weekly inspiration, recommendations, and encouraging insights from your fellow sister seekers. A Note From Your Sister Seekers Hey, seekers! I saw a post on LinkedIn this week that has been on my mind a lot. A woman wrote about how she just got back from spending a week on a yacht off the coast of some faraway island. She said it was her dream vacation and that she has helped all of her employees research their dreams and found that most of them cost on average between 3k-10k....

Welcome to your weekly inspiration, recommendations, and encouraging insights from your fellow sister seekers. A Note From Your Sister Seekers Happy Wednesday morning and officially happy fall! I hope your week has begun on a good note and that the cooler fall weather is starting to hit where you are too. The end of September marks one year since selling our small gym and it had me reflecting on the meaning of fitness in my life. I was drawn to fitness from a young age. I wasn’t an athlete...
